When using the keyword search you may need to provide more than one word e.g. road survey, but need to control whether it should find emails that contain:


  • Both road and survey
  • Either road or survey
  • The two words road survey next to each other


Pico assumes AND by default


In this example we have typed road survey so Pico has found any emails that contain both road and survey. In this small demo environment, it found only three emails.



Looking for either one word OR another word

The 'pipe' character which looks like a vertical line, causes Pico to look for emails that contain either of the words. So here it has looked for emails that contain either road or survey and has found five emails.



Looking for a sentence

If you want Pico to look explicitly for road survey i.e. these two words next to each other, just enclose them in quotes. So in this example it has only found emails where road and survey are next to each other:
