When you sent the outgoing email Test 1 earlier, you didn’t receive a prompt because you had yet to install the Prompt To File.

The Prompt To File is a simple App that interrupts the user's flow and gets them to check whether CloudFiler has selected the correct filing location.

TIP: Users of Macs and New Outlook won’t be able to benefit from the Prompt To File. As a consequence they may wish to change the user setting that automatically selects the top filing suggestion, otherwise emails are likely to be misfiled by impatient users who omit to check that the correct location is selected before they hit Send. User preferences/settings are covered later in this document

There are two MSI installers for the Prompt To File; 32-bit and 64-bit. The bitness needs to match the bitness of Outlook and not the bitness of Windows. In most cases users with have 64-bit Microsoft 365 so you will typically install the 64-bit version which you can find on our Installers web page.

  1. After installing the App, close and re-start Outlook. This is necessary because Outlook only loads this type of App at start-up
  2. Send a new email just as you did earlier i.e.
    1. Pick New Email in Outlook
    2. Make sure the CloudFiler Add-in is showing and pinned
    3. Address the email to yourself
    4. Give it a subject of Test 2
    5. Type something in the message body
    6. Hit Send

The prompt should now appear. Click on Send.

It will be sent and filed to the selected location which will be TESTING as we still only have one location in the list.

Next step: Adding locations with a right-click in Windows File Explorer
