When you open an email via CloudFiler's search tool, your browser may ask you whether you want to keep the file, which can become irritating.


You can change the setting as follows:


Adding EMLs to the Safe list via Group Policy

Your IT department are likely to prefer the following method as it centrally resolves the issue for all staff and only allows the downloading of EML file and not other formats.


  1. Open Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)
  2. Navigate to: User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Microsoft Edge → SmartScreen settings
  3. Locate Allow download of unsafe files
  4. Allow .EML files




Edge & Chrome browsers

If you can't use the method above and are not concerned about the security issues of allowing any file format to be downloaded with you having to accept it first, you can do the following:


  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Downloads
  3. Disable the option: Ask where to save each file before downloading
